THE FANDOM MENACE
Who is the most interesting and empowering women in pop-culture? Of course we're talking about princess Leia. A strong, head fast and independent leading female figure, and protagonist from the original STAR WARS Trilogy. She took the world by storm when debuting in 1977's 'A New Hope' and hasn't stopped. To this very day still fighting back against the EMPIRE and the SITH in the newest trilogy. Sadly Leia met her demise in Episode 9, but she died fighting to protect the universe and used the last of her life force to turn her son back to the light. No one will touch the hearts and change the lives of so many young girls all round the world as much as Leia. A true figure and role model for the empowerment of women. She showed that not all princesses need to conform to the stereotype of having to be saved by knights in shining armour.
A collective of different people from all around the world all linked together by a single phenomena, STAR WARS. Collectable figures as well as models, DVD collections and Lego collections have all been produced to help spread community spirit in a physical form, all made to express fandom devotion. All aiding to create a deep sense of community and belonging.

To get involved with the Fandom in your community why not visit and support your local comic book store. Or if you feel like traveling and getting involved outside of your area, why not attend annual MCM Comic-Cons, STAR WARS specific fandom events like going to Disneyland, attending STAR WARS movie re-runs and cosplay events.

Disneyland Paris: STAR WARS
The philosophy of the Jedi are most relatable to that of the Stoics and Buddhism. The FORCE is a metaphysical substance inside all things similar to that of the Daoist concept of the Dao through its vagueness and elusive nature .
1,) A teaching of Yoda is that detachment sets us free, a main Buddhist concept.
2,) Attachment can become unhealthy as we become addicted to that thing and refuse to let it go, it makes us mad and in the end afraid of losing it. To this Yoda teaches that we should train ourselves to let go of our fear to lose. It was attachment that turned Anakin into Darth Vader!
We should all aim for a life of virtue and inner tranquillity, relatable to the term Eudaimonia. For more information check out the philosophy for yourself. Become enlightened with 'The FORCE.'
